Had brunch there last Sunday at noon. Service was mediocre and I had to ask the hostess for a waitress to initially serve our table and again for someone to take my credit card. Food was decent at best although the choices were very limited. They ran out of some lunch items and no one came out of the kitchen to refill them. There are many brunch options in the QC area and I won't be going back here.

We stopped here for dinner after having the restaurant recommended by some locals the night before, We always like to dine at the bar so didn't feel the need for a reservation. Upon arrival we were introduced to Shawn the bartender and ordered cocktails. We were very disappointed to discover that they don't serve dinner at the bar here, and also that the restaurant was completely booked because of prom and Mother's Day. However, after talking to Shawn and asking him for some dining recommendations in the area, he offered us the option of ordering a few appetizers at the bar. We picked two, and after ordering them the very pleasant and efficient hostess found us at the bar to offer us a table that had been a no-show. We opted to stay at the bar with Shawn and enjoyed the beef slider appetizer as well as the spicy chicken flatbread. So, I'm not sure how wonderful the food is here, but they definitely went out of their way for us.

If I could sum this review up in one word....."EXSPEEEEEEENDSIVE!!!! Yes, it is pricey. The menu starts at $20 a plate and goes to $38 a plate, unless you want to include the rack of lamb for 2...which is $60. Most dishes are around $27-$28, appetizers are around $9-$10, and desserts are $9. There is a full bar with top shelf liquors, an extensive wine list and about 15 types of beer on hand. Enough of the price info...on with the review. The view is nice. We(wife and I) asked for a window seat, so we could watch the Mississippi river flow as we enjoyed some quiet time together. The atmosphere was top notch and the service was great...just a great romantic evening type of place. The food was delicious, but servings were small....even for the high price you pay. I had the "Cherry lamb chops" served with potatoes($30). While the lamb was good, it was served with 3 YOUNG red potatoes cut into smaller pieces, and a small salad. Wife had a seafood pasta thing($24) and a small salad as well. We both shared a flaming Greek cheese appetizer($11), and we both had ice tea($2). Total bill was $69 not including tax or tip. What I disliked about this place, aside from the price and small portions, was they didn't offer to make things to my liking. I asked if they served a TRUE Caesar salad(with anchovies) , and the waitress said "no". Did not offer to have the kitchen make one for me. Also, we left hungry....REALLY!!!! When we left, we went to Trattoria Tiramisu, where the kitchen was more than happy to make my Caesar salad, had some coffee and canolli. But, all is not lost. I was able to find out they have a Sunday brunch from 10am until 2 pm for $19.95. It includes crab legs, prime rib, salads and over 20 types of dessert. We will be returning some day for the brunch.

I took my girlfriend here for Valentine's Day dinner. I had requested a window table while creating my reservation online. Though they state they cannot guarantee a window table, when we got there they mentioned that one was available and it was ready for us within 5 minutes of being there. It was dark but the view of the fire outside was nice. You could tell that at one time the view of the river was amazing but over time the businesses below took some of the awe away. Staff was friendly and accommodative and at no point was service an issue. My girlfriend got a lemon drop martini and I got a key lime martini. Key lime was the hands down winner as it was delicious and had more of a thick texture to it. We got the Greek cheese appetizer and it was AMAZING. My girlfriend stated that this alone would warrant a repeat visit. Bread and butter was so so. For entrees we got a filet mignon and a poblano ribeye. The steaks were very good. The vegetable was asparagus but we were a little surprised to only get three and the presentation was lacking. We both got the a side of bacon and onion macaroni and cheese that we felt was lacking in flavor (could have done with some of the kick from the Greek cheese appetizer). Overall, we will go back but feel that the entrees have room for improvement and as is were about 25% over priced.

Fantastic spinach salad! Best ever. Best view of the Mississippi from any restaurant. Very friendly staff. Great music on the outside porch on Fridays. Great place to take friends and family visiting the QC. First class manager!

Special occasion, check. Reservations in order, check. Arrive early, check. Table by the window, nope. Lobster bisque? Delicious. Wife's steak? Wonderful! My steak? 15 minutes past medium rare. Desert? Wonderful. After dinner drink with coffee? No coffee in sight. For close to $300 for three people, the lapse was not excusable. Mandy did a good job, but had to handle almost half of the dining room. Maybe better next time, but only 3 stars this trip.

Had our anniversary dinner here last evening. Breathtaking view of the river at sunset with the firepit flaming outside of our window. Server was friendly and helpful. Ordered the flambeed greek cheese appetizer....super good! Rosemary bread was not as good as I anticipated...a little dry but the rosemary butter helped. My pork chop dinner came with asparagus which was perfectly cooked, firm not stringy. Chops were very flavorful as was the side of garlic mashed potatoes. Spouse had Blackened Mahi Mahi which was tasty but a little mushy. That was the only negative we encountered. We will be visiting again.

Excellent food, service and drink. Can not beat the ambience. Great view of the river. It was a special dinner for my wife's birthday and was not disappointed !! Bianca provided excellent service.

With Red Crow going through a transition, we thought we'd give Steventons a try. The host who seated us had crusted something all over the back of his shirt. The view from the deck was decent though the furniture was sticky. We had a couple of cocktails. There was an upcharge for blue cheese olives in the dirty martini. Really?! You don't nickel and dime when a cocktail runs in excess of $10 already. It's tacky. The lobster bisque was quite good. I tried the blackened tuna which was overdone and very dry. If they ever start serving blacked tuna in school cafeterias, it will taste like this. My wife's steak was nicely prepared, however. Long story shorter, not worth the almost $100 this evening cost. We won't be back. Judging by the saltiness of the food and a look around at the other clientele, this place caters to an older set with plenty of cash looking for what might appear to be an upscale meal. The price was upscale, the food and service were not. You do not get what you pay for.

We went for brunch. The staff is super nice and the food is good BUT the selection was minimal. Also there was one person on the omelet station and the line for it was through the dining room. I have no ate there for dinner but I am guessing they are know for the fine dining more then brunch. Kid friendly and nice staff. Brunch opens at 10am.

This was a very nice steak place. We stopped here on a road trip and were absolutely mesmerized by the view! Unfortunately I ordered the seafood dish. It was good, not great. I also wanted to order a julep but they didn't have any mint. My gin and tonic was good, but that's not a hard drink to make. I give it 4 stars because my mom's fillet was excellent and cooked to perfection. I would go here again and get a steak, for sure.

Everything was "close, but not quite" I was there right when they opened and the staff and hostess were having a discussion lamenting their busy schedules. Not really appropriate convo when there are guests in the place. The quality of the beef in the Tenderloin Trio was excellent - cut it with a fork. And while the cherry glaze was great, the pesto seemed to be from a jar. Close, but not quite. For the cost, it should have been homemade. The bread came to the table with three types of butter. YAY! But the bread itself was heavy and humid inside, like when you have a freezer loaf you defrost on the counter that wasn't quite ready for the oven. Close, but not quite. Dessert was good and my server was very pleasant and prompt. So for the same money, I'd go back to The Faithful Pilot and get something really great instead of close but not quite. I will try Steventon's again in the future and hopefully they'll have tightened things up a bit. Nice location, good menu, etc, - it's just that it should be more than it is.

This is an update from a post from last year. I think the owner passed away and it's just not the same. Used a Facebook coupon to get the free Flaming Greek cheese appetizer. The appetizer was delicious, served with toast points, but not enough, so I asked for a few more. Amazingly, a charge of $2.50 showed up on our bill for the extra toast! In addition, the waitress *forgot* to take the Greek cheese appetizer off our bill ~ so CHECK YOUR BILL BEFORE PAYING! I ordered the filet mignon dinner ($30) and I will eat my hat if that was a filet mignon. Tasted more like sirloin. I ordered it medium rare and it came out medium. The salad was borderline going bad and the side I ordered, mac & cheese, was barely edible. Service, even on a weeknight, was fair. Had to ask for drink refills, correct our bill, etc.

I have been to this place a couple of times now for brunch and dinner. For the dinner I had steak, which was decent. I would recommend their toppings as it can get dry. Their appetizers I remember were good. Overall, the bar is normal. If you get a chance during the warmer months, I recommend eating outside. For brunch I have had omelettes and some of their sweeter stuff like banana bread french toast. Recently they moved to a smaller menu and a buffet. The buffet is good but the eggs could have been better (seemed like we got there at the bottom of the pan so they were stuck to the pan). Their brunch dishes are all good, though. Great dessert too. Service is always great as well. Plenty of parking.

Had a great romantic dinner here. The food and service were exceptional. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because I was expecting a great view and it was not what I thought. It does overlook the river, but it is a ways back and also overlooks a highway and a sub shop. I thought the restaurant was actually on the river. The other reason is that the raw oysters were probably not as fresh as they should have been. Otherwise, we had a great spinach salad and lobster bisque. Amazing duck and fish entrees, and a fantastic wine. It was expensive but worth a splurge every once in awhile. Our server was perfect, helpful and attentive but not around too much and annoying. The tableside fried cheese and spinach salad presentation was old school and a lot of fun. We will definitely be returning.

We went there for Dinner this past Saturday. I must say that this place knows good food. Yes, pricier than most, but truly you get what you pay for, We had the lobster Bisque soup, and it was absolutely delicious. She had the mahi-mahi fish for the first time and thought it was absolutely delicious. I had the Filet and you could almost cut it with your fork. The arlic mashed potatoes were just perfect. Only a hint of garlic. The vegies were done to perfection. We then ordered straberry romanoff for desert. This was prepared at our table and just wonderful A very enjoyable experience. We will definatly return.

If you find yourself in Le Claire Iowa stop by Steventon's. Maybe you, (unbeknownst to me), are going by American Pickers or something like that, please stop by Steventons for some good eats. The atmosphere is freindly and inviting. During the warmer months you can sit outside, it overlookis the Mississippi. ((and I80) It's adorable and I will go back next time I am in the area. The food is definately upscale and you will pay a little more for it, but is is worth it.

"The" remaining fine dining establishment of the Quad Cities, with fantastic evening views of the Mississippi river at sunset. Truly spectacular, via the wide and tall glass windows. Romantic, great for groups, special events... this is the spot. The food is not bad either! Delectable meat dishes, excellent salads, and their REAL flavored butters. Excellent table side specials such as the chops and the cherry jubilee.

Terrible. I work about a mile from this place and everyone I work with told me not to try it. I didn't listen and paid the price. This is a pretty 'high end' restaurant in this area and thought it would be a nice place to take my girlfriend for her birthday. I got there right before they opened for the day and made a reservation with the GM for a specific table in the corner, right by the giant window overlooking the river. She told me that no matter what that table would be open for me for my 7 p.m. reservation. Well low and behold, when i arrive at 6:54 p.m. with her; they have seated someone else at said table. The people seated there were looking at the menu and hadn't even ordered yet. I was then asked if I wanted a different table but all of the rest were in the low-lit back area with no window view. We left and went elsewhere. I followed this up the next day by calling the GM i had spoke with and telling her. She coldly told me that she 'was sorry' but gave me no other resolution than that. I will not be going back and wouldn't recommend this treatment to anyone.

My husband and I celebrated our 7th anniversary overlooking the Mississippi. The lobster bisque and creme brûlée were fantastic and the service was first class. Our entrees were also amazing and the ambiance very elegant. Definitely will come back again!

Came here with my girlfriend and it could not have been better. From the wait staff to the food to the view of the Mississippi, it was perfect. My filet mignon was great and my girlfriend got the lobster mac and cheese and was great as well. I will definitely be coming back to eat sometime and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for the perfect dinner date.

It has been a while since I dined at Steventon's but I will never forget their spectacular view and desserts. I had a seat right by the window and enjoyed the beautiful view of the dinner. Steventon's was my first finer dining experience. I remember being so impressed by their flambeed Banana Foster dessert. I am bringing my boyfriend to dine here the next time we're in the QC!
